The appeal was made by State Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, during a Tuesday meeting with the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) at the command headquarters in Dutse.

Jigawa State Police have called on political party leaders in the state to ensure that all political activities are conducted peacefully, without weapons or intimidation.

The appeal was made by State Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, during a Tuesday meeting with the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) at the command headquarters in Dutse.

CP Muhammad urged parties to notify the police in advance of rallies, processions, and other public events.

He explained that such coordination allows the police to provide security, offer guidance, and prevent incidents that could disrupt public order.

He also warned against the display or use of weapons during political gatherings, stressing that politics should not be a platform for violence or threats.

The Commissioner condemned the use of inflammatory, divisive, or abusive language, particularly on social media, noting that reckless statements can escalate conflicts and put lives and property at risk.

CP Dahiru further criticised the hiring of thugs and the use of hard drugs at political events, describing such actions as a betrayal of the youth and a threat to societal stability.

In response, leaders of IPAC commended the Police Command for its proactive and inclusive approach.

They assured full compliance with the law and police directives, and promised to educate party supporters on peaceful and responsible political participation.
