The decision was disclosed in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi

The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has removed the Divisional Officer of Fagge, Amina Musa Kolawale, and handed her and other officers on duty to the police following the death of a suspect in custody.
The decision was disclosed in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi.
Abdullahi said the affected divisional officer, alongside all officers and men on duty at the time of the incident, had been handed over to the Kano State Command of the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and necessary action.
He explained that the move followed what he described as a sad incident in which a suspect lost his life at the Fagge divisional office.
According to him, the State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, approved the removal of Kolawale after a panel of inquiry was set up to carry out a discreet and fair investigation into the matter.
Abdullahi said a new divisional officer, CSC Bashir Isa Abubakar, has been deployed to take over the Fagge division.
While appealing to the public to remain calm, the NSCDC spokesperson said the corps remained committed to peaceful coexistence.
He added that the command would continue to uphold respect for the sanctity of life, human rights, professionalism, standard operating procedures, integrity and the rule of law.
