The United States and Israel have reportedly targeted Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility, according to Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization.

“In response to the criminal attacks by the United States and the Zionist regime against our country, the Natanz enrichment complex was struck this morning,” the organization stated in a release carried by Tasnim News Agency on Saturday.

The statement further noted that there was “no leakage of radioactive materials” at the Shahid Ahmadi Roshan enrichment facility in Natanz, which is located about 220 km (135 miles) southeast of Tehran and is one of Iran’s key uranium enrichment sites.

Iranian officials assured that no radioactive material was released, and there is no threat to the nearby population, according to the Tasnim report.

The Natanz facility was also a target during the June 2025 conflict between Israel and Iran.

Local Media reporting from Tehran, mentioned that the Iranian nuclear organization did not specify how the attack occurred or what type of bombs were used.

He noted that Natanz is a crucial site in Iran’s nuclear program, along with the Isfahan facility.

Vall added, “A significant goal of the US-Israeli operation has been to halt Iran’s nuclear program and prevent the country from developing a nuclear weapon.”

In response to the attack, Russia condemned the strike, labeling it a “blatant violation of international law,” according to a statement from Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned that the US and Israel would escalate their operations against Iran in the week beginning Sunday.
