The armed group also accused Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s administration of misrepresenting the scale of the abduction

A shocking video released by suspected Boko Haram fighters shows hundreds of kidnapped residents, including women and children, reportedly taken from Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The armed group also accused Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s administration of misrepresenting the scale of the abduction.
In the footage circulating online, the captives were asked where they were taken from, with many responding that they were seized from Kaiama LGA.
One of the gunmen condemned the state government for allegedly downplaying the number of people kidnapped, claiming the authorities reported only 20 to 30 victims while hundreds were actually in their custody.
“The Kwara State government lied to Nigeria and the whole world,” the militant said in the recording, insisting that the official figures were false.
Attempts to obtain comments from the Kwara State Police spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, and the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, were unsuccessful.
The video has provoked outrage on social media, with many Nigerians questioning the government’s handling of security and accusing it of complicity in the ongoing abductions. Others expressed concern over the boldness of terrorist groups that openly display kidnapped civilians and challenge authorities.
Some commentators highlighted that the footage underscores the urgent need for stronger security measures and actions to prevent future attacks in vulnerable communities
