Sowore said his dislike for Obasanjo stems from what he knew about the former president before entering university

Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has blamed former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo for the decline of Nigeria’s education system, saying the deterioration began during the period he attended university.
Speaking on the X programme Nix: Outside the Box, Sowore said his dislike for Obasanjo stems from what he knew about the former president before entering university.
“I have never visited Aso Rock, nor have I met any sitting President, not even Obasanjo,” Sowore said.
He added, “Obasanjo is one of the people I simply cannot stand. Part of the urgency to get into university was ‘Ali must go,’ and that was during Obasanjo’s time. That period marked the start of the decline in our education system. Honestly, I don’t even know what he looks like.”
Koikimedia reports that Obasanjo, who first served as military Head of State, was also civilian President from 1999 to 2007.
