A tragic accident occurred on Saturday when a catamaran flipped over in Florida’s Caloosahatchee River, throwing three people into the water, and sadly, they lost their lives.

This happened around 4 p.m. local time near Cape Coral Yacht Club, between Cape Coral and Fort Myers, according to authorities.

A catamaran overturned, and four people were on board, officials said. Agencies searched the river and found three victims on Saturday. Two were dead, and one was in critical condition in the hospital on Sunday.

A 60-year-old man, who went missing after the accident, was found dead in the river on Sunday. The body was recovered by the U.S. Coast Guard after a thorough search, as reported by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The names of the three people who lost their lives haven’t been shared yet.The Coast Guard says they’re still looking into what caused the boating accident.
