At least four people were killed and 10 others injured in a shooting at a California banquet hall on Saturday evening. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. in the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue in Stockton, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.
“It’s unfathomable,” said Heather Brent, a public information officer for the sheriff’s office, who reported that the gunfire broke out during a family gathering at the hall.
She said the people shot are different ages, from young kids to grown-ups. No one said how the injured people are doing now. The sheriff’s office said some people were taken to the hospital earlier.
“The victims range from young children to adults, but there’s no update on their current condition. Authorities reported that some injured individuals were transported to the hospital for treatment.”
“The incident was a terrible tragedy, and we’re deeply saddened by what happened,” said San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas. “We’re working hard to ensure that the person responsible is held accountable.”
