Lt. A.M. Yarima, a young Nigerian Navy officer who recently clashed with Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, reportedly escaped an assassination attempt on Sunday evening.

Military sources told Journalists that unidentified men in black, driving two unmarked, number‑plate‑less Hilux vans, trailed Yarima from NIPCO Filling Station on Line Expressway to Gado Nasco Way.

The officer spotted the surveillance, performed a “strategic maneuver,” and evaded the suspected attackers around 6:30 p.m. The matter is under investigation, and authorities say it’s being treated seriously, withholding further details to protect the probe.

This incident follows a recent, video‑captured confrontation between Lt. Yarima and Minister Wike over a disputed land site, which sparked public and veteran backlash.
