The development comes ahead of fresh US-Iran negotiations scheduled to begin on Friday in Switzerland.

Several Iranian oil tankers have crossed the US blockade line near the Strait of Hormuz, marking Iran’s first crude oil exports in nearly two months, according to maritime monitoring service TankerTrackers.

The development comes ahead of fresh US-Iran negotiations scheduled to begin on Friday in Switzerland.

The talks follow a framework agreement aimed at ending the conflict that began after US-Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28, 2026.

TankerTrackers reported that three Iranian tankers carrying millions of barrels of crude oil successfully passed through the blockade zone this week.

News of the planned reopening of the Strait of Hormuz has also contributed to a drop in global oil prices.

Officials say the upcoming 60-day negotiations will focus on Iran’s nuclear programme and the gradual lifting of international sanctions, including restrictions on Iranian oil exports.
