Oshiomhole made the clarification in a statement issued on Tuesday, saying his remarks during a television interview on AIT had been misrepresented and taken out of context.

The lawmaker representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole, has made a U-turn on his comments regarding alleged forgery of senators’ signatures in the report that recommended the suspension of Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, insisting he never made such a claim.
Oshiomhole made the clarification in a statement issued on Tuesday, saying his remarks during a television interview on AIT had been misrepresented and taken out of context.
He denied ever alleging that senators’ signatures were forged in the controversial report.
According to him, he only raised concerns about a claim made by a senator who served on the committee, who alleged that attendance signatures of some lawmakers were attached to the final report.
The Nigerian Senate had earlier dismissed Oshiomhole’s claims in the Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan matter, stating that it would review the issue and take a position on it.
Oshiomhole, in the statement, said, “The insinuation that I said signatures of Senators were forged is a complete misrepresentation of what I actually said.”
He added, “The only comment I made is that one Senator, who is a member of the Committee, claimed that the signatures of attendance of some Senators were attached to the final report.”
