The Force assured Nigerians that dealing with criminals is the responsibility of the police, stressing that staying calm can save lives

The Nigeria Police Force has advised citizens to prioritise their safety during encounters with criminals, urging them not to resist or confront attackers.
The Force assured Nigerians that dealing with criminals is the responsibility of the police, stressing that staying calm can save lives.
Force Public Relations Officer, Mr Benjamin Hundeyin, made the appeal on Tuesday during an interview on Politics Today on Channels Television.
He said confronting armed or violent criminals can put lives at risk and that remaining composed is key.
“In situations where you find yourself among criminals, do not struggle or fight. Stay calm and protect your life first. We can always track down and arrest the criminals afterwards,” Hundeyin said.
He also highlighted recent successes by the police in tackling criminal networks, including the notorious ‘One-Chance’ gangs operating in parts of Abuja.
Recent arrests include suspects linked to the murder of a lawyer in the Federal Capital Territory, with key evidence, including a phone, recovered.
