The deceased have been identified as Hon. Anawo Benjamin of Orokam Ward 3, Hon. Ogbe Enemari of Ai-oono Ward 3, and Hon. Abraham Enenche of Olachagbaha Ward.

Three youth leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ogbadibo Local Government Area in Benue State have been killed in a tragic motor accident while travelling to Lafia, Nasarawa State, for the party’s North Central Zonal Congress.

The deceased have been identified as Hon. Anawo Benjamin of Orokam Ward 3, Hon. Ogbe Enemari of Ai-oono Ward 3, and Hon. Abraham Enenche of Olachagbaha Ward.

They died at the scene, while several other members of the delegation sustained injuries and are receiving treatment.

The accident occurred on Wednesday along the Makurdi–Lafia road, abruptly cutting short the lives of the young leaders who were on official party duties.

Reacting to the tragedy, 2023 APC Benue South Senatorial candidate, Comrade Daniel Onjeh, expressed deep sorrow, describing the loss as heartbreaking.

He lauded the deceased for their dedication to grassroots politics and their contribution to the growth of the party, extending condolences to their families and the APC community in Ogbadibo and Benue State.

Onjeh also prayed for the recovery of the injured and urged party members to remain united.

Similarly, Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro, called the incident devastating, noting the pain of losing multiple lives from the same local government area at once.

He sympathised with the families, friends, and political associates of the deceased, praying for the repose of their souls and comfort for those left behind, while wishing the injured a swift recovery.
