Edo Governor Monday Okpebholo has carried out a minor cabinet reshuffle, redeploying his Chief of Staff, Hon. Gani Audu, as Commissioner for the Ministry of Oil and Gas.
Audu’s role as Chief of Staff will now be handled by Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, the current Commissioner for Lands and Housing.
The Secretary to the Edo State Government, Musa Ikhilor, said the reshuffle is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, improve service delivery, and enhance efficiency in the administration of state affairs.
As part of the changes, Barr. Vincent Osas Uwadiae, the outgoing Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, has been moved to the Ministry of Lands and Housing.
The statement noted that Audu’s nomination as Commissioner is subject to confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly. The adjustments take effect from 30th January 2026.
Governor Okpebholo expressed confidence that the reshuffle will improve coordination, policy implementation, and overall governance across the state.
