A five-member panel of the apex court, headed by Justice Inyang Okoro, upheld the rulings of the lower courts which ordered the forfeiture of the undeclared sum

The Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal filed by Aminu Sule Lamido, son of former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, contesting the forfeiture of $40,000 to the Federal Government.

A five-member panel of the apex court, headed by Justice Inyang Okoro, upheld the rulings of the lower courts which ordered the forfeiture of the undeclared sum.

Delivering a unanimous judgment, Justice Adamu Jauro, in a decision read by Justice Abubakar Sadiq Umar, ruled that the appeal lacked merit.

Justice Jauro described the appeal as “doomed to fail” and consequently affirmed the forfeiture of the $40,000 to the Federal Government.
