Former Edo State governor and current Senator for Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has come under intense public scrutiny after a video reportedly showing him giving a foot massage to a woman on a private jet surfaced online.

The clip, which first appeared on X on Tuesday, quickly sparked reactions across Nigeria, with many questioning the senator’s conduct amid the country’s ongoing economic challenges.

According to reports, the woman initially shared the video on her TikTok page before deleting it, but it had already been widely circulated across other social media platforms.

Activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore linked the footage to Oshiomhole’s past comments on the economy, suggesting he is disconnected from ordinary Nigerians.

On Facebook, Sowore wrote, “Exactly. When ‘Comrade’ Oshiomhole says food prices have dropped, he’s not speaking from the marketplace; he’s speaking from 30,000 feet. A man who can casually rent a private jet for personal indulgences lives in a completely different economic universe.

“How can someone so insulated from daily struggles understand the price of garri, rice, or cooking oil? Hunger doesn’t register in first class, and inflation is invisible when your life revolves around private jets and privilege.”

Social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, also criticised Oshiomhole, noting that public officials no longer conceal displays of wealth.

He wrote, “These people no longer hide it. Before, they did it behind our backs; now they do it openly. How much is Adams Oshiomhole earning to be on a private jet?”
