A young Igbo entrepreneur has raised concerns over repeated ethnic-targeted attacks on her agricultural business in Osun State, claiming that police intervention has been ineffective.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @General_Somto, the woman, whose identity has not been officially confirmed, said she has suffered losses running into millions of naira following repeated vandalism and theft of her farmland and processing facilities.

She said, “What is being done to me here in Osun is pure tribal bullying because I am Igbo. Even the police are not doing anything about it. This has been happening repeatedly.

“They have stolen my farming equipment worth more than ₦10 million. They vandalised my palm oil processing machine, my cassava processing machine, poultry equipment, and even my generator.

“They are trying to drive me out and take over my land because I am Igbo. Each time I report the case, it is rubbished because I am not an indigene.

“I have also been prevented from selling my goods in the market simply because I am Igbo.

“Seventy percent of my workers are from this place. I am not owing anybody. Even when they don’t work out their pay, I still pay them because I like to put smiles on people’s faces.

“I pay school fees for many of their children. I feed people and make them happy, yet they still organise to steal and vandalise the same company that is feeding them.

“The day we were going for arrest, we caught one of them while others ran away. That person is still in police custody.

“The debts these criminals put me into last year, I have never come out of it, and they have started again. I don’t even have money to replace many of the machines they carried.

“The land belongs to me. I paid in full. They even charged me extra because I am not an indigene, including money for trees I didn’t need, and I still paid.

“After selling land to me, they will still come back to plant on it and steal from me.

“I refuse to be bullied. I am not going to keep quiet again. I will make sure everyone involved in this stealing and vandalisation is held accountable. I am just a young girl working hard to make a life for myself. I must do everything possible within the law to protect my business.”

Attempts to obtain comments from the Osun State Police Command were unsuccessful.
