Abati said Edo people had the opportunity to choose a highly educated and intelligent candidate but opted for Okpebholo, and now must live with that decision

Arise Television anchor and former presidential aide, Reuben Abati, has criticised Edo State residents for electing Governor Monday Okpebholo, following the governor’s struggle to pronounce the acronym GCFR.
Speaking on Wednesday during Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show,’ Abati said Edo people had the opportunity to choose a highly educated and intelligent candidate but opted for Okpebholo, and now must live with that decision.
He was reacting to Governor Okpebholo stumbling over the ‘GCFR’ suffix when mentioning President Bola Tinubu’s name.
“Like Yoruba people would say, it is finished. Edo people had the chance to choose a highly educated man who was very intelligent. They did not want him. But they chose Monday Okpebholo.
“Simple series that they teach children in school, Okpebholo could not pronounce. GCFR becomes DSS, GSM, GSSM,” Abati said.
