KATSINA, Nigeria — Terrorists locally dubbed as bandits in Nigeria have killed one Dr. Tiri Gyan David, the Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics, Extension, and Rural Development at the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in an attack on his residence in Katsina State.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at his residence in Yarima Quarters, Low-Cost Estate, Dutsinma Local Government Area of the state.

The assailants, armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the community around 1:30am, an eyewitness told local broadcaster, Channels Television.

They fired shots indiscriminately, terrifying residents, the source said, adding that the terrorists “abducted two of Dr. David’s children”.

The spokesperson for the Katsina Police Command, Abubakar Sadiq also confirmed the attack, expressing that a comprehensive statement would be issued shortly.
