Gunmen have reportedly abducted a journalist in Nigeria’s southwestern Ogun State.
Oshibanjo Oluwatosin, a journalist and human rights activist, was reportedly whisked away by the armed men who stormed his residence in Ijebu-Ode on Tuesday.
Oluwatosin is the CEO of TMC News.
A source told investigative news outlet Sahara Reporters that efforts to locate the victim proved futile as his phones were switched off.
“A formal complaint has been filed with the Police Area Commander and Igbeba Police Station, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. Please contact the nearest police station or call 08078608667 with any information,” the source said.
Ogun State Police Command’s spokeswoman SP Odutola Omolola was quoted as saying: “Preliminary investigation has commenced.”
