IBADAN – Two persons have been made to appear before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, Oyo State, South-West Nigeria, for allegedly stealing palm kernel worth ₦5, 120, 000.

Taiwo Adesokan, 32 and Gbolagade Sikiru, 25, whose addresses were not provided, were charged with conspiracy, stealing and receiving stolen property.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Inspector Musbau Lawal, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on September 6, at 5.30 p.m., at Operinde Village, Ibadan.

According to Lawal, Adesokan stole the palm kernel from one Adekunle Afolabi while Sikiru received it, knowing that it was stolen.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 517, 390(9) and 427 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Olaolu Olanipekun, granted the defendants bail in the sum of ₦1 million each, with two sureties each in like sum, and adjourned the case until November 25, for hearing.
