Ogun-Nigeria: In a shocking incident, Mr. Iseoluwa Owonbo, the owner of FESBEE Hotel & Suites, was stabbed to death at around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
The attack occurred at his hotel, located at No. 4 Isale Oro Street, Abule Ekun, near Giwa, Oke Aro, Ogun State.
The tragic news was revealed by Mr. Segun Owonbo John, the younger brother of the deceased, in a statement to Koikimedia.
According to Segun, the perpetrator, identified as Ajidele Babajide Smile, had visited the hotel premises and fatally stabbed his elder brother, Mr. Iseoluwa Owonbo, that night.
Upon receiving the distressing information, Mr. Segun rushed to the scene of the crime. He was joined by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) from Ajuwon Police Station. Together, they transported Mr. Owonbo’s body to the mortuary in Ajuwon, Ogun State.
Mr. Segun further explained that his elder brother, Iseoluwa, had a history of helping Ajidele Babajide Smile financially and supporting him whenever he was in need. He expressed disbelief and shock over the violent attack, as Iseoluwa had consistently shown kindness to his eventual killer.
Adekunle Adeyemo, a close friend of the late Mr. Iseoluwa Owonbo, also spoke to Koikimedia about the unfortunate incident. He recounted that after Ajidele stabbed Iseoluwa, he immediately contacted Mr. Segun at around 2 a.m. to inform him of the situation.
Together, they went to the police station to report the crime and summon the DPO. Afterward, they escorted the body to the mortuary.
Further investigations have revealed that Ajidele Babajide Smile is a known criminal with a disturbing history of violence.
He has reportedly assaulted his own mother on multiple occasions and is suspected of involvement in several other killings. Authorities are continuing their search for the suspect as they pursue justice for Mr. Iseoluwa Owonbo’s murder.
