The pioneer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Major Rasaki Salawu (retd.), on Friday, attended the ongoing training of newly recruited officers of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Camp in Iseyin, Oyo State.
The training event commenced on Friday, 19 July 2024, and is expected to end on Monday, 29 July 2024.
Major Rasaki Salawu, an author and a columnist, who played a significant role in initiating the formation of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Nigeria, described his visitation to the training base as historical.
“I am happy to witness young Nigerians progressing and wanting to do more to contribute to the development of the country. Being in their midst today is also to encourage them and ensure they achieve their aims,” he said.
Major Rasaki Salawu’s contributions to road safety have had a lasting impact on the country.
The chairman of OYRTMA, Major Adekoya Adesagba (rtd), OYRTMA’s General Manager, Commander Ayoade Adeoye, the State Commander, Commander Saheed Adesokan, among others were also present at the event today.
