Two passersby were shot dead in Alagbado, Lagos State, on Friday after police officers allegedly opened fire during a pursuit.

The officers involved have been arrested, and the state commissioner of police, Moshood Jimoh, has ordered an investigation into the incident.
In a post on X, Adebisi stated that Jimoh directed “adequate deployment of personnel to forestall any breakdown of law and order” in the area.
He added that normalcy has been restored and that the outcome of the investigation will be made public.
An eyewitness on X reported that the officers, attached to the AIT division police station and on stop-and-search duty, fled the scene immediately, leaving the victims unattended until they died.
The incident follows a series of cult-related clashes in parts of Lagos, including Iyana-Ipaja, Aboru, Badore, Olokonla, Onipanu, and Satellite Town, which have claimed at least four lives and left several others injured.
