Galadima, a former ally of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, said no candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) could win under a credible electoral process.

A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu would lose the 2027 presidential election if it were conducted freely and fairly.

Galadima, a former ally of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, said no candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) could win under a credible electoral process.

He made the remarks on Friday during an interview with Trust TV.

“There is no APC presidential candidate in 2027 that can get the mandate of the people if there is a free and fair election. Tinubu will not win if the election is free and fair,” Galadima said.

He linked his position to the government’s handling of agriculture, saying policies have hurt farmers nationwide and discouraged local production.

“No farmer will vote for the APC government because it has deliberately destroyed agriculture and removed incentives for farmers,” he added.

Galadima warned that farmers would withdraw support from the ruling party ahead of the next election, highlighting rising costs of farming inputs compared to produce prices.

“Fertiliser costs N70,000 per bag, while a bag of millet sells for N16,000, maize over N20,000, and beans N36,000.

“This removes any incentive to farm. If farmers stop producing because the government imports what Nigerians can grow, crashing local prices, it will create a serious problem,” he said.
