Medical sources told the Palestinian news agency WAFA that Israeli drone fire on Sunday wounded civilians in the Zeitoun neighbourhood of southern Gaza City

Israeli forces have injured several Palestinians across the Gaza Strip, firing on civilians and carrying out air and artillery strikes in what Palestinian officials describe as continued, near-daily violations of the ceasefire that has been in effect since October.
Medical sources told the Palestinian news agency WAFA that Israeli drone fire on Sunday wounded civilians in the Zeitoun neighbourhood of southern Gaza City.
In southern Gaza, two people, including a young girl, were injured by Israeli gunfire in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis.
Further injuries were reported in areas from which Israeli forces were expected to have withdrawn under the ceasefire agreement.
At al-Ahli Arab Hospital in eastern Gaza City, medical staff said three Palestinians were wounded by Israeli gunfire near Netzarim, south of the city.
Witnesses told Anadolu Agency that an Israeli drone fired on the group.
Doctors at Nasser Medical Complex confirmed that two additional Palestinians were injured by Israeli fire in al-Mawasi. In central Gaza, medics at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital said a Palestinian man was shot in the head in Deir el-Balah, describing his condition as critical.
The Israeli military also carried out air strikes on buildings in Rafah in the south, while artillery shelling targeted areas east of Jabalia in the north and the Tuffah neighbourhood of Gaza City.
Helicopter gunfire was reported near the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, and Israeli naval forces were said to have fired toward the coast of Khan Younis, according to foreign media reports.
Israel continues to restrict the entry of food, medical supplies and shelter materials into Gaza, where approximately 2.2 million people face severe humanitarian conditions amid cold weather and limited shelter.
Israeli forces maintain control over large parts of Gaza, including much of the south, east and north, according to Israeli military data, effectively keeping the territory under occupation.
Since October 7, 2023, more than 71,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 171,000 wounded in the conflict, according to Gaza health authorities, with women and children accounting for the majority of the casualties.
The offensive has destroyed an estimated 90 percent of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure, with the United Nations placing reconstruction costs at around $50 billion.
