Terrorists carried out another assault in Kwara State, kidnapping four rice farmers in Bokungi Village, Edu Local Government Area.

The incident happened Wednesday evening, just 24 hours after gunmen attacked a church in Eruku, Ekiti LGA.

Sources told local Media that the victims were seized while harvesting rice during the peak season; the attackers suddenly surrounded them and forced them into the bush, taking them to an unknown location.

A community source confirmed, “It has been confirmed that bandits struck again at Bokungi under the Lafiagi Emirate. Four people were abducted. Information is still emerging.” Residents added that the gunmen acted without opposition, and the growing insecurity has left many farming settlements abandoned, with farmers now fearing attacks.

Three people were shot dead immediately, and then the attackers took an unknown number of people. A source described the incident: “The gunmen burst in and began shooting; three people were killed right away.

They forced the others at gunpoint and moved them into the bush, and we still don’t know how many were taken.” The attackers fled along bush tracks linking Eruku to nearby villages, leaving the community in panic and confusion.
