NigeriaAbuja: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of four new members to the Governing Council of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), strengthening its capacity to drive local content in the oil and gas industry.

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced the appointments in a statement on Thursday.

The new members include Olusegun Omosehin from the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and Engr. Wole Ogunsanya of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN).

Others are Mazi Sam Azoka Onyechi, representing the Nigerian Content Consultative Forum (NCCF), and Barrister Owei Oyanbo from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

Their appointments replace outgoing institutional representatives, ensuring the council remains fully constituted.

Established under Section 69 of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act, 2010, the NCDMB Governing Council oversees and promotes Nigerian participation in the oil and gas sector.

It includes representatives from key institutions such as the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), COREN, PETAN, NCCF, and NAICOM.

President Tinubu urged the new members to apply their expertise in advancing local content development, in line with his administration’s commitment to economic growth and job creation in the sector.
