Abuja – Retired military personnel in Nigeria on Wednesday protested over the non-payment of their pensions and other outstanding entitlements in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
They military retirees under the group of Coalition of Concerned Veterans (CCV), disrupted activities at the Federal Ministry of Finance at the Federal Secretariat with music, and displayed banners carrying different inscriptions.
The retired military officers are protesting over the non-payment of a 28% increment since January, three months palliative and ₦32,000 flat rate added to them since July.
The protesters also highlighted other demands such as; bulk SDA payments with new template regardless of retirement year, the VFN bill to be reviewed and passed in line with global best practices and many others.
They appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene and direct the military authorities to pay their pensions without further delay.
