Actor Yul Edochie has said that former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, cannot become President of Nigeria at this time.

In a post shared on X, Edochie claimed that any political party Obi joins would collapse, insisting that his recent political engagements were “dead on arrival” and a waste of time.

Speaking ahead of the 2027 general elections, the actor, who is a known supporter of President Bola Tinubu, said the issue was not physical but “deeper,” adding that he was surprised Obi was either unaware of it or choosing to ignore it.

He said, “Any political party Peter Obi joins will scatter. Whatever he’s doing with ADC is dead on arrival. A total waste of time. It’s not a physical problem.

It’s deeper than that. I’m surprised he doesn’t know this already. Or maybe he knows but chooses to ignore it. But the truth remains the truth. Peter Obi cannot be President of Nigeria now.”

Edochie, who contested the 2017 Anambra governorship election under the Democratic Peoples Congress, has remained vocal in political discussions in recent years.

Obi, who was the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has recently been linked with consultations involving other political platforms, including the African Democratic Congress, ahead of future elections.
