Italian police have arrested two Nigerians and three other African migrants in connection with the alleged abduction and gang rape of a 32-year-old Colombian tourist in Rome.

According to reports, the woman was allegedly lured from a restaurant in Rome on May 19 by a man offering to sell her hashish.

She was reportedly taken in a van to an abandoned building on the city’s eastern outskirts, where she was held for about 72 hours.

During this time, authorities say she was repeatedly raped, drugged, and threatened.

The victim eventually escaped and was found half-naked on a pavement by a passerby, who called emergency services.

Police later raided the building, arresting five suspects: Saidykhan Lamin (29) and Karamba Kanteh (38) from Gambia, Harouna Traore (43) from Mali, and two Nigerians, Isibor Wisdom (29) and Paul Nwabueze (39).

They have been charged with gang rape aggravated by the victim’s vulnerable condition and remain in custody.

Investigations are ongoing to apprehend other suspects, including the man who allegedly lured the woman and the van driver.

Authorities also discovered 22 undocumented migrants at the property, 11 of whom have been sent to detention centers pending deportation.
