The tragedy was confirmed in a fundraising appeal shared on GoFundMe by a close family associate, Adejonwo Odutola, who also called for public assistance to support the bereaved family

A Nigerian man, Ademola Oke, has died after being found unresponsive at his workplace in the United Kingdom, marking the third such death involving a Nigerian in the country in April.

The tragedy was confirmed in a fundraising appeal shared on GoFundMe by a close family associate, Adejonwo Odutola, who also called for public assistance to support the bereaved family.

According to the appeal, the incident occurred on April 18. Odutola stated that Ademola, 37, left home that morning in good health and maintained regular contact with his wife throughout the day, with no signs of illness or distress.

He explained that Ademola was later discovered unresponsive at his workplace by a colleague who arrived for a night shift.

“On 18th April, 2026, Ademola, 37 years old, left home in the morning hale and hearty, with no signs of illness.

He was in contact with his wife during the day, and they even shared a WhatsApp message at 2:08 pm everything seemed normal,” Odutola wrote.

“Tragically and without warning, Ademola passed away suddenly while at work. Later in the day, a colleague arriving for their shift at night in the service user’s house found him seated on a sofa, unresponsive.”
Emergency services were called to the scene, but he was pronounced dead.

Odutola said the sudden death has left Ademola’s 31-year-old wife devastated and solely responsible for their two young children, aged six and two.

He described Ademola as a loving husband and devoted father, noting that the family is now facing emotional trauma and financial hardship.

The fundraising effort, he added, aims to assist with funeral expenses and provide ongoing support for the children as the family adjusts to life without him.

He urged members of the public, particularly Nigerians in the UK, to contribute to the appeal, stressing that any support, no matter how small, would make a difference in easing the family’s burden.
