There was panic on Wednesday afternoon as Kolade Alabi, Chairman of Bariga Local Government in Lagos State, suddenly slumped during a stakeholders’ meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Alabi, who also chairs the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), collapsed while delivering a speech at the APC Secretariat on Acme Road, Ikeja.

The incident, which happened at exactly 12:10pm, stunned the crowd of party members and dignitaries in attendance.

Eyewitnesses said Alabi was making his remarks when he lost consciousness and fell. He was immediately attended to and rushed to an undisclosed hospital for emergency treatment.

A video of the moment he was being taken to the hospital has since surfaced on social media platform X.

As of the time of filing this report, the cause of his collapse remains unknown.

The meeting was temporarily suspended following the incident, with many participants expressing concern and offering prayers for his speedy recovery.
