Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has named Assistant Inspector-General of Police Nkechi Eze as the first director of the newly created Directorate of Force Medical Services.

Force spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the appointment on Thursday, saying it follows the elevation of the Nigeria Police Force’s medical section to a full-fledged directorate aimed at improving access to quality healthcare for police personnel nationwide.

Hundeyin noted that the IGP congratulated Eze and urged her to leverage her extensive experience to establish a world-class medical system within the force.

The statement described Eze as “a distinguished clinician, dental surgeon, and administrator with over 27 years of exemplary service.”

Born in Umuahia, Abia State, and from Agbudu in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, AIG Eze holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife, and a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Benin.
