Gunmen on Wednesday night attacked communities in Plateau State, killing two people and injuring two others, including a woman shot in Heipang community, near the Plateau State Polytechnic.

Three people were hit and rushed to the hospital for treatment. One of the victims, a woman, later died from her injuries, while two others sustained gunshot wounds.

The shooting caused panic among students of the Plateau State Polytechnic, particularly those living off-campus. Nanchip Dube, a student, said the gunfire threw the campus community into confusion.

“The sounds of gunshots created panic amongst students,” Dube recounted.
