Ukraine’s air defence forces have intercepted 95 out of 101 Russian drones launched overnight, according to Ukrainian officials.
The attack took place between the evening of 23 June and the morning of 24 June, with Russian forces deploying a mix of attack and decoy drones from multiple locations, including Russia and temporarily occupied Crimea.
Ukraine’s Air Force said the drones were engaged by a range of defence systems, including air defence missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire groups operating across northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.
Despite the high interception rate, six drone strikes were recorded at five locations, while debris from downed drones fell in at least six other areas.
Officials added that several drones remained active in Ukrainian airspace at the time of reporting, warning residents to continue following safety precautions as defensive operations continued.
Military analysts say such large-scale drone raids have become a frequent feature of the conflict, with Russia increasingly relying on unmanned aerial systems to pressure Ukraine’s air defence network and target infrastructure, testing its capacity for sustained interception over long periods.
