A bar manager and a sales girl who were abducted by suspected armed bandits from a relaxation centre in Oke-Ijumu, Ikoyi, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, have been successfully rescued by a joint security team.

The victims were reportedly kidnapped during an attack on Aluta Bar Relaxation Centre on Saturday, June 6, 2026, causing panic among residents and business owners in the area.

Their rescue was carried out on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, through a coordinated operation involving the Ogbe Vigilantes, Irele-Ekiti Vigilantes, personnel of the Nigerian Army, and officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

According to sources, the security operatives intercepted the kidnappers while they were moving the victims to a suspected hideout. The ensuing operation led to the rescue of both victims without injury.

Several of the suspected kidnappers were reportedly neutralized during the encounter, while others escaped with gunshot wounds and are currently being pursued by security agencies.

Residents have praised the courage, swift response, and collaboration of the vigilante groups and security forces, whose efforts ensured the safe return of the abducted victims.

Meanwhile, security operatives have intensified efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects and strengthen security measures to prevent further criminal activities within the area.
