Two people have died and one person was rescued alive after a road accident at Arapaja Bridge in the Kudeti area of Ibadan, Oyo State.

The crash occurred on Tuesday when a Lexus Jeep 360, with registration number KSF297JF, lost control, somersaulted into a nearby gutter, and caught fire.

The Oyo State Fire Service recovered the bodies of the two male victims at the scene, while the surviving passenger was rescued and taken to safety.

Chairman of the service, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, confirmed the incident, describing it as a result of reckless driving.

He added that the bodies had been handed over to officers from the Nigeria Police Force Mapo Divisional Headquarters.

“The Nigerian Police Mapo Divisional Headquarters provided commendable security support during the operation,” Akinwande said.
