Ooni of Ife Mourns Elder Brother, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has announced the death of his immediate elder brother, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi, describing him as a respected entrepreneur and humanitarian whose life was defined by humility, service, and compassion.

In a statement released on Sunday by the palace’s Director of Media and Public Affairs, Sodiq Lawal, the monarch said the passing of Prince Adetunji has left a significant void in the Ogunwusi family, the Ojaja Royal Dynasty, and the entire Ile-Ife Kingdom.

Born on December 8, 1967, Prince Adetunji was a member of the Ojaja lineage of the Giesi Ruling House in Ile-Ife and served as the Group Chairman of Primewaterview Holdings.

He was widely known for his business leadership, innovation, and commitment to helping others.

The Ooni described his late brother as a trusted confidant, a strong pillar of the family, and a man who lived with honour and dignity.

He noted that Prince Adetunji touched many lives through his generosity, wise counsel, and dedication to community development.

According to the monarch, the late prince consistently upheld the values of the Ojaja Royal Family through his humility and commitment to societal progress.

He urged family members, friends, and the people of Ile-Ife to find comfort in the meaningful and impactful life Prince Adetunji lived.

The Ooni also prayed for strength for the bereaved family and for the peaceful repose of his brother’s soul, describing his legacy as one that will continue to inspire future generations.
