The National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN) in Abuja has barred the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) and its members from going ahead with the strike scheduled for January 12.

Justice Emmanuel Subilim issued the order on Friday after hearing an ex-parte motion filed by the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) in the case NICN/ABJ/06/2026.

The ruling followed submissions by the Director of Civil Litigation at the Federal Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Maimuna Lami Shiru, who led a team of lawyers representing the government.

The respondents to the motion and defendants in the main suit are NARD, its National President, Dr. Mohammad Usman Suleman, and the Secretary-General, Dr. Shuaibu Ibrahim.
