Iran Attacks Kuwait and Bahrain as Regional Tensions Escalate

Iran launched missile and drone attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain on Sunday, following another night of US military strikes on Iranian targets.

Kuwaiti and Bahraini authorities reported several waves of attacks.

Kuwait said one strike caused a fire at a power and water facility, while Bahrain stated that its air defence systems intercepted incoming missiles and drones.

Iran’s military claimed it targeted a US ammunition depot at Camp Al-Adiri in Kuwait and radar systems at Ali Al Salem Air Base, which hosts American forces. Tehran said it would continue to defend the country against foreign threats.

The attacks came after fresh US strikes on locations in Iran.

Washington said the operation was aimed at weakening Iran’s military capabilities and reducing threats to commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran also announced that its Revolutionary Guard had stopped two ships in the Strait of Hormuz, adding to tensions over the strategic waterway.

The latest developments have further strained relations between Iran, the United States, and their regional allies, raising fears of a wider conflict in the Middle East.
