The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) has verified the asset declarations of nine ministers, 43 permanent secretaries, and 40 directors as part of efforts to enhance transparency in public service.

CCB Chairman Dr Abdullahi Bello, in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja signed by Director of Special Duties Mr Moses Atolagbe, said the verification was carried out through the Bureau’s Financial Investigation and Fraud Analysis Unit (FIFAU), which reviewed over 500 asset forms and flagged discrepancies for enforcement against defaulters.

He highlighted the launch of an online declaration system at www.ccb.gov.ng, which has saved millions previously spent on printing forms.

Bello added that 199 personnel have been trained in investigation and ethics, and new zonal offices have been set up to strengthen enforcement.

He also noted collaborations with the EFCC, ICPC, DSS, NFIU, and foreign embassies, as well as membership in the Association of Commonwealth Heads of Anti-Corruption Agencies in Africa.

Reiterating the Bureau’s slogan, “Declare or Forfeit,” Bello urged public officers to uphold transparency and accountability in their service.
