Argentina Boss Scaloni Pays Tribute to Messi Before World Cup Final

Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni has described Lionel Messi as a football legend and urged fans to appreciate the 39-year-old star as he prepares for what could be his final FIFA World Cup appearance.

Speaking at a FIFA Fanatics event in New York alongside Messi and goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez, Scaloni praised the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner for reaching another World Cup final at his age.

Argentina will face Spain in the World Cup final on Sunday as they attempt to defend the title they won in Qatar in 2022.

Despite concerns about the age of several key players, Argentina have reached the final after a series of impressive performances, including a semifinal victory over England.

Scaloni acknowledged that Spain would be a difficult opponent, describing them as a strong and well-organised team.

However, he dismissed suggestions that Argentina’s experience in previous finals would give them an advantage.

Messi also reflected on his football journey, saying that growing up playing in schools, streets, and local neighbourhood teams helped shape his character and taught him how to handle both success and defeat.
