ran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Monday that it carried out a retaliatory strike on an airbase after U.S. forces attacked a telecommunications tower on Sirik Island in Hormozgan Province, near the Strait of Hormuz.

According to a statement published by Fars News Agency, the IRGC’s Aerospace Force targeted the airbase allegedly used to launch the U.S. attack, claiming that the intended targets were successfully destroyed.

The IRGC warned that any further aggression would trigger a much stronger response and said responsibility for any escalation would rest with the United States.
