Iran must stop the attacks immediately so a diplomatic solution to the crisis can be found,” said Majed al-Ansari, spokesman for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a press conference on Monday.

Qatar has urged Iran to immediately halt its attacks on Gulf nations in order to allow for a diplomatic resolution to the ongoing war with the United States and Israel, which has led to a global energy crisis.

“Iran must stop the attacks immediately so a diplomatic solution to the crisis can be found,” said Majed al-Ansari, spokesman for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a press conference on Monday.

He added that Iran had targeted residential areas, energy infrastructure, and Hamad International Airport.

“Iran is attacking Gulf countries without justification and must cease its actions, as we are not part of the conflict,” al-Ansari stated from the Qatari capital, Doha.

Since February 28, Iran has targeted U.S. assets and civilian sites in Gulf countries following the U.S. and Israel’s bombing of Iran.

The attacks have claimed over 1,400 lives in Iran and caused extensive damage to both military and civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, airports, and seaports.

In addition, Iran has launched drones and missiles at Israel, killing at least 15 people. Qatar and other Gulf nations have been calling on Iran to stop its assault, with Qatar’s UN envoy describing the attacks as a violation of international law and the UN Charter last week.

During the same press conference, al-Ansari noted that Iranian media had suggested targeting economic and civilian sites, a statement he said Qatar takes seriously.

“Ending these attacks requires a decision from Iran’s foreign minister, and Qatar will defend itself if necessary,” al-Ansari emphasized. “Discussions are ongoing with Gulf nations to ensure de-escalation and address Iran’s aggression.”

In response, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei on Monday denied Iran’s involvement in some of the attacks against Gulf countries, instead accusing the U.S. and Israel of carrying out certain strikes.

He called on foreign governments to investigate the matter.
