Security sources told Journalists on Monday that the attackers stormed the area in large numbers late Sunday night

One member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) was killed on Sunday night when suspected terrorists attacked a police position at Obajana, Kogi State, where security operatives are stationed at the Dangote Cement Factory.
Security sources told Journalists on Monday that the attackers stormed the area in large numbers late Sunday night.
The sources said the assault appeared to be a reprisal following a recent military operation that reportedly killed over 200 terrorists in the area.
“We lost one CJTF member during the attack. There were no police casualties, and no arms were lost,” one source said.
According to the source, the terrorists tried to overrun the police position but were successfully repelled by security forces.
“They came in large numbers, all hooded, to avenge the heavy blow they suffered in the earlier operation.
They were repelled and sustained heavy losses as they evacuated their dead,” the source added.
Another source confirmed that the troops stationed at the Dangote Cement Factory held their ground throughout the assault, forcing the attackers to retreat after suffering additional casualties.
“Last night, some terrorists attacked the police position at Obajana. The troops stationed at Dangote Cement Factory successfully defended the post,” the source reiterated.
As of the time of filing this report, the Kogi State Police Command had not released an official statement on the attack.
