The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of a nursing mother and her child along the Supare/Ajegunle axis in Akoko South West Local Government Area.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Akure that the incident occurred on Saturday, January 3.
“Yes, I can confirm that a nursing mother and her child were kidnapped by unknown gunmen at the Supare/Ajegunle Akoko area. Efforts are ongoing, and the command has deployed security personnel to rescue the victims alive and unharmed,” he said.
Jimoh reiterated the police’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of all residents in the state.
It was gathered that the woman, who is the wife of a well-known furniture maker, and her child were abducted from their residence on Saturday night.
