Terrorists attacked the busy Isanlu–Isin–Omu Aran Road in Kwara State early Monday, abducting at least four people.

A source familiar with the incident told Journalists that the attackers, believed to be bandits, ambushed motorists and commuters, forcing several vehicles to halt before abducting their victims.

“The bandits remain heavily active in the area and continue to target travelers heading to Ilorin,” the source said.

As of this report, the Kwara State Police Command has yet to release an official statement on the attack or the status of the kidnapped individuals.

Motorists and commuters have been urged to avoid the Isanlu–Isin–Omu Aran road for the time being and to exercise extreme caution, as residents fear further attacks amid the ongoing presence of armed groups in the area.

Journalists had earlier reported that suspected terrorists abducted the monarch of Aafin Community, Oba S.Y. Olaonipekun, along with one of his sons, Olaolu, a serving National Youth Service Corps member, in the Ile-Ire district of Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara State.

The attack reportedly occurred around 8:00 pm on December 31, 2026, sending shockwaves through the community as insecurity continues to tighten its grip on Kwara South.
