Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine, firing 705 missiles and drones overnight into Thursday, targeting civilian areas and energy infrastructure across the country.
The attack included 653 drones and 52 missiles of various types, with Ukraine’s air force shooting down or suppressing 592 drones and 31 missiles.
Unfortunately, 16 missiles and 63 drones hit their targets in 20 locations, causing damage and casualties.
This attack is the second-largest drone and missile barrage since the full-scale invasion began, with the largest being on September 6-7, when Russia launched 823 drones and missiles.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russia launched a complex, combined strike on Ukraine, affecting the capital Kyiv and at least nine other regions, from the southeast to the western border with Poland.
The attack killed at least two people in Zaporizhzhia, injuring dozens, including children. Zelenskyy stated that energy facilities and civilian infrastructure were also targeted, disrupting power and water supply. Emergency services are working to restore essential services as quickly as possible.
