A tragic incident occurred in Eleyewo, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, where a middle-aged man, Baba Apana, allegedly took his own life by ingesting Sniper insecticide.

Residents reported that the deceased, in his mid-50s, had left his mobile phone behind when he went to the farm on Tuesday before the incident.

He was said to have bought a bottle of Sniper pesticide around Ilu Abo and went to his farm, where he was later found dead.

As at the time of filing this report, the reason for his action remains unknown.

The deceased, who was from Ogoja in Cross River State, was said to have lived in the area for several years and had three children. His remains have reportedly been taken to a morgue, while local authorities have started investigating the incident.
