Press Release from Yoruba Nation youths with Disabilities, under comrade Taiwo Thomas Imole Yoruba, Southwest youth disability codinator and Stephen Amoju, Diaspora youth disability codinator

Demand for Justice and Self-Determination

We, the Yoruba Nation Youths with Disabilities, are compelled to address the Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, regarding the formation of the Fulani Herdsmen Livestock Committee in Yoruba land. This decision has caused immense distress and outrage among our community, and we categorically reject it.

The Fulani herdsmen’s presence in Yoruba land has led to numerous instances of violence, destruction of property, and displacement of our people. The formation of this committee is a clear indication of the government’s complicity in these atrocities. We will not stand idly by while our rights and dignity are trampled upon.

As youths with disabilities, we are particularly vulnerable to the violence and discrimination perpetuated by the Fulani herdsmen. Our community has been disproportionately affected, and we demand justice and protection from the government.

We stand in solidarity with our great leaders and demand:

1. The immediate dissolution of the Fulani Herdsmen Livestock Committee in Yoruba land.

2. The withdrawal of Fulani herdsmen from Yoruba land.

3. Compensation and rehabilitation for victims of Fulani herdsmen violence.

4. Recognition and respect for the rights and dignity of Yoruba people with disabilities.

We are not happy about the situation, and this is why we are calling for our freedom from this country called Nigeria. We demand self-determination and the right to govern ourselves.

This press release is issued by Comrade Taiwo Thomas, Southwest Yoruba Nation Youth Disability Coordinator and Comrade Steven Amoju, Diaspora Yoruba Nation Youth Disability Coordinator.
